Global warming is a major concern and each day we wake up with this imminent danger lurking overhead. It is up to the people and not just governments to make policies regarding what should be done and what should not be done. As responsible human beings, it is in our best interest to stand up to what is right and believe that we can make a difference. The initial steps may be hard to take but they will pave the way for greater changes.
Earth Hour is one such move, a simple ideal that sends a strong message. To put your foot down against the extremities we have bought upon our self, ‘Earth Hour’ required people, businesses and offices to simply forgo the use of electricity for an hour. A very simple action if you gave it thought but a very bold statement with immediate results.
Leaving your power supply on unnecessarily is depleting natural resources and increasing global warming, we need to do something now. On March 31 2007, for one hour,
This year, 2008, 24 global cities showed their support in the Earth Hour campaign at 8pm on March 29. Earth Hour aims at encouraging people to minimize power consumption as is possible. These are simple steps to take but with more participation they will have greater results.
